Reichenau Island at the Bodensee

Third and last day, our guide had already prepared a great contrast for us, but he clarified that his main objective was that we had the opportunity to enjoy good gastronomy. After a day of Swiss gastronomic elegance, he invited us to a place that was a bit more traditional and popular, but that guaranteed us that the culinary experience would be very good and exciting.
We made our way to Reichenau Island, the road was about 30 minutes by car from the city of Constance, again the pleasant trip with dream views of the lake that do not let the eyes of the windows move. Along the way, he explained that on that island there is a very old monastery, and that the island was a small town that for years thanks to the humidity of its land, one of its main economic activity is that of agriculture along with tourism , but that by tradition was characterized much more by its agricultural production of fruits and vegetables, which in their totality are consumed in the majority by the restaurants of the different regions of the Lake.
The Island is also known and very popular for its beautiful bicycle route, being included within the different cycling routes of the Lake as a regional tourist destination. We would walk it walking. The island will possibly have a road or perimeter street of about 8 kilometers in total, its vast majority of houses by the lake are houses of exclusive apartments for vacationers, has a small port for local boats, a park area with a couple of restaurants, a beautiful beach to bathe and a camping or parking area for mobile homes.

But the surprise was when on the edge of the street, with nothing special more than a garage for vehicles next to a terrace about two meters wide, we found the famous fish restaurant Bei Riebels, there was no table available, and the people stopped waiting for someone to finish eating and freeing a stand, the queue on the shelf full of customers who were probably living or staying in one of the surrounding houses because they ordered their takeaway dishes. and The amount of parked bicycles was impressive, there was no doubt that the wait would not be for pleasure. The menu is quite simple, fish fillets with salads, additional potatoes, plus fish starvation or fish salad wraps, you don't need anything else! The fish fillet plate with salad is plentiful and delicious!

We ended up satisfied, we couldn't have a better end at the lake, again surprised at the beauty of the place and the great variety of places it offers its visitors.
