Palace Wartegg and unique gastronomy experience

,Second day, it was 10 am in the morning when our guide passed us to our lodge in the city of Constance, the adventure of this day was to meet on the Swiss side of Lake Constance in the town of Rorschach a very popular castle by its gastronomic and cultural concept. The Wartegg Castle, hotel and restaurant.

The road lasted a little over an hour. And the scenery was lovely, along the way our guide gave us a little introductory talk about the place we would visit.
And is that Wartegg Castle is not enough to be a hotel of charm for its history and architecture, this is located within a large expanse of land full of trails within the forest, in addition to having a view of the lake and access to a beach publishes very beautiful, its restaurant has a bio sustainable self concept. Next to it, we find an orchard in the middle of the garden where a great variety of herbs are planted, which are the main ingredients of their dishes in the kitchen, they mentioned that with their harvest they manage to cover the demand at one hundred percent during the summer. and they only need to stock up on the local market during winter.
Curiosity was not long in coming, we were already eager to enjoy a taste that undoubtedly had to be unique.

The castle is not very large, it only offers 25 rooms and a restaurant, perhaps another of its great attractions after its beautiful architecture, is that it offers a private spa and hot spring pool service, very romantic for couples. The restaurant is open-air, of a relatively small size, but with a very special touch, with the breeze and lake view that seep through the trees that adorn the garden.

​They took the menu, quite simple, few dishes, including entrees such as salads and soups, fish, meat and pasta, accompanied by 4 sweet dishes for dessert. We were a group of 6 people so we managed to order almost everything on the menu.

Finally we can say that the place did not disappoint, and instead surprised more than we expected. At the beginning of courtesy, a small snack with a small portion of fish, another of salami, a herb boil oil plus a dressing with bread, then came salads, which in the form of flowers and with edible flowers of the garden began to captivate both the view and the palate,
And it is that possibly in that cocktail of flowers and herbs, we found flavors and combinations that we had never tried.

The main course also does not disappoint, between pork fillets that melt in the mouth, fish fillets with potatoes in cheese and spinach sauce, and some meat and fresh herb rabbis that are possibly the best rabbis we had ever tried.
For dessert some delights with coffee sorbet, cherry jams with sweet creams and chocolate.
A good culinary experience totally recommended. After such delicious food we took pleasure in doing the digestion with a small walk along the forest paths and the castle gardens until we reached the beach. Beautiful engrammed by the sea, that out of respect for visitors we gave ourselves the pleasure of saving the camera and throwing ourselves on the ground like the vast majority of visitors.
