WHAT TO DO IN STUTTGARTA little piece of China in Stuttgart. We went out this time in search of good panoramic views of the city. The day was sunny and the weather was very nice, we know that the hills around Stuttgart give us places with dreamlike panoramas and incredible locations to escape the noise and pavement.
This time we decided to make a small visit to the Chinese Garden, a very popular destination for its originality within the city, undoubtedly a unique place that is worth knowing. Here we bring some history: In 1993, the city of Stuttgart was the site of an international Garden exhibition event. Weltgartenschau, in an event is held annually in different cities worldwide, Stuttgart on this occasion had the opportunity to welcome millions of visitors who enjoyed the great event. This exhibition is made up of communities and clubs from all corners of the world, including official representations of different countries to offer visitors and the world a cultural exchange characterized in the design of traditional gardens in each participating region. On this occasion the delegation representing the city of China had the opportunity to design a beautiful garden with materials imported directly from China, original designs with the architectural features of this world power and culture. For the event, the garden was built in the Hohenpark Killesberg park, and it was one of the gardens that drew a lot of attention for the visual and material quality of its components in addition to the cultural contrast it reflected. At the end of the event, many representations, civil associations and even the city showed great interest in maintaining this garden, logically discarding such a beautiful work of art would be a shame and a great waste. As a result of the donation by the Chinese delegation of all the main components that characterized it, the city found the funds and the space for its transfer and restoration,
The Chinese garden in Stuttgart is currently located on top of one of the oldest vineyards, and the only one still preserved in the middle of the city next to the central station. The garden is composed of its beautiful entrance, a main hall, a gazebo, its waterfall, a bridge over its small artificial lagoon and finally a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the city, all in detail decorated with carved wood carvings. The atmosphere that can be enjoyed is peace and relaxation as you enter a small oriental temple. To get there it can be done by bus or if necessary walking from the central station, the walk takes about 40 minutes, and you can know the Birkenwaldstrasse that is part of the trails or roads of the Wurttemberg vineyards to appreciate its beautiful views between the vineyards of the city ..
