It constitutes a milestone in the history of architecture, the Weissenhofseidlung urban complex was built in 1927 as part of a construction exhibition. 17 leading international architects built ultra modern houses with flat roofs and steel tube furniture, which sought to revolutionize housing, participated great architects such as Mies Van de Rohe, Scharoun and Le Corbusier. The double house of Le Corbusier is currently established as a museum and shows the work of that time, along with an exhibition, a house in its original state. Since 2016 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO
With a purpose of architectural display, this complex was programmed by the city and built in 1927 in the hills known as Killesberg, The Weissenhof Estate. The extraordinary form of this project was launched by 17 architects who are still known as masters of modern architecture, for example Ludwig Mies Van del Rohe, Le Corbusier, Watler Gropius and Hans Scharoun. Each of the architects designed their own house with a joint specification, that they should have a flat roof, so the entire complex shows a model of homogeneity and individuality of each of them, is clearly recognized and continues to impress and influencing the architecture of the whole world until nowadays.
